This SMS Consent Policy explains how NYC OPWDD (Recruitment NYC) uses text messaging to communicate with families who have opted in.

Who sends these messages

Messages are sent by NYC OPWDD and Recruitment NYC. We may contact you from one or more different phone numbers, and we may use manual, automated, recurring, or bulk systems to reach you by phone calls, text messages, SMS, MMS, and emails for service, follow-up, and marketing communications.

Types of messages

• Responses and follow-up to your inquiry
• Appointment and consultation reminders
• Status updates on your OPWDD or Self-Direction process
• Information about services and programs relevant to your request
• Marketing and promotional messages — events, new services, and opportunities that may be relevant to you
• Training, community, and industry updates

How to opt in

You may opt in by providing your phone number and checking the consent box on any form, or by contacting us directly. Consent is not a condition of receiving our services.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any text to stop messages, or email info@nycopwdd.com with “Opt Out SMS” in the subject line. Reply HELP for help.

Message & data rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan. We do not charge for SMS messages.

Sharing with third parties

By providing your phone number, you agree that your contact information may be shared with relevant third-party licensed providers — such as home care agencies, OPWDD-approved providers, Self-Direction fiscal intermediaries, and therapy providers — who may contact you directly by phone calls, text messages, SMS, MMS, and emails. See our Privacy Policy for details. SMS consent data itself is never shared with third parties for their own marketing.
